Emblems and Badges

Emblems and badges are the manufacturer and model identifiers fitted to the exterior of the vehicle, usually attached with adhesive or clips.

What it does

Badges identify the make, model and sometimes the trim or engine variant. Some front badges also conceal radar or camera housings.

Signs a badge is failing

  • A badge that has come loose or been lost
  • Faded, peeling or discoloured finish
  • Damage following a respray or accident repair

When to replace them

Not a wear item. Replaced when lost, damaged or during cosmetic restoration.

What to confirm before ordering

Have these ready and the counter can usually confirm the part in under a minute.

  • Exact model and trim designation
  • Position on the vehicle, since front and rear badges differ
  • Finish, whether chrome, gloss black or colour-coded
  • Whether new adhesive pads or clips are required

Emblems and Badges questions

How are badges attached?

Most use double-sided automotive adhesive, some use clips through the panel. Adhesive-mounted badges need the old adhesive removed and the surface cleaned before fitting a new one.

Will a new badge match the faded ones on my car?

A new badge will usually look brighter than surrounding badges that have aged in the sun. If appearance matters, replacing the set gives a consistent result.
